Portland Sage Singers

Many elders want to do something they love and be part of a community at the same time. Portland Sage Singers fills both of those desires. We will be a chorus with fewer concerts with less memorization and choreography than our sibling choruses.  We want to sing great music and continue to make a difference in our world. If that’s how you feel, Portland Sage Singers is for you. We will be part of the GALA Choruses network (leader in the North American LGBTQ+ choral movement) and encourage all allies to join in the music-making and fun.

General information:

  • We are privileged and honored to have Dr. Tim Seelig as our Artistic Director.
  • We were inspired by Sage Singers Denver, the first GALA chorus for queer and allied elder singers.
  • Our ages are 55+.
  • We have simple, user-friendly auditions.
  • Rehearsals are Sundays at 2:30 at Grant Park Church, 2728 NE 34th Ave, Portland, OR 97212.
  • Dues are $125 per term (2 terms per season). There is an additional nominal cost for music.
  • No one will be turned away for lack of ability to pay.
  • We will produce one concert per term and have additional (optional) outreach performances.
